The above charity was formed after the death of Helen who, at the age of 26 developed a Gynaecological cancer which reoccurred seven years later. She twice fought the most courageous battle with appalling pain and disabilities, never once complaining and determined to lead as normal a life as possible.
While she was alive she helped raise over £300,000 for Cancer Projects which included the Cancer Vaccine Institute, Clic, St Michael's Hospice, Macmillan Nurses and various research laboratories. In 2004 we raised £217,000 from a Ball. This was given to the Cancer Vaccine Institute and The Eve Appeal for Ovarian Cancer.
Her family and friends are determined to continue to raise money in her name to help with research and support, in the hope that the pain and suffering caused by this terrible disease, which affects so many, may soon be eradicated and a cure found.
The Trust mostly supports small research laboratories and projects, giving the money directly to them and keeping administration costs to a minimum.
We are immensely grateful to all the people who have supported us.
